Information:

Green Onyx and White Onyx, also known as Alabaster.
It has been used for decorative/ornamental purposes for hundreds of years.

It has a fine-grained crystalline structure of hard semi-translucent calcite with metallic oxide veins.
The overall colour is usually clouded shades of green (as above) or white, with bands of colour running through it.
These colours can consist of: various shades of brown, amber, orange, red, green and white.

The painted imitation of marble; 'marbling' is taught at various places throughout the world.
